Maha Shivaratri Sponsorships.

Maha Shivaratri occurs on the fourteenth night of the dark fortnight of the Hindu Month of Phalgunam (Magham) and signifies the Lord Shiva's cosmic dance, marriage to Parvati, and triumph over ignorance. Maha Shivaratri involves fasting, meditation, and seeking blessings for reflection, enlightenment, and spiritual development. While Shivarathri falls once very month, on the day of the Maha Shivaratri in the month of Phalgunam, the cosmic energy is said to be highest and hence keeping awake, keeping spine erect, fasting, meditating, and praying for Lord Shiva is considered to bring immense benefits.

Maha Shivaratri celebrations at our Temple on March 8th, start at 5:30AM with 108 times Shiva Chalisa and Rudha Havan at 10AM. Temple will be open all night for festivities, including special Shiva Pujas like Ksheera & Jala (Milk  Water) Abhishekam, and 1008 names of Lord Shiva chanting in the evening. Don't miss this year's special Abhishekam, the auspicious Anna Abhishekam to Lord Shiva Lingam, 13 times Rudram Abhishekam, culminating with Bilwa Archana for Lord Shiva in the morning!
